Quora: 1 Year and 1 Million Answer Views

Update: April 2020, Note: The original story was authored in January 2018. At the moment, I've accumulated 2.7 million Quora views! Most people who follow me online know that I've been spending a lot of time on Quora lately. I've been writing answers, participating in discussions, sharing existing Quora answers with my team and interacting with team members met through the platform. Which is probably why my local team prepared that spectacular clock for my birthday, conveniently including Quora to my daily schedule: How I Got Started With Quora I stumbled upon Quora back in 2013 or 2014 while browsing… Continue Reading

Daily Blogging Is Disappointing

Few of the people I follow regularly recently turned to the "daily blogging" routine and I just stopped reading them. Not that they started writing for the sky and mountains or anything - I just can't catch up with everything, and the new content sounds like a magazine article rather than a professional opinion or review. Unless your work is full-time writing or R&D and your blog is your very top priority, please don't do that. There are too few examples of successful daily bloggers (I won't point fingers, I can think of three or four myself) that don't do… Continue Reading

Regular Blogging and Misconceptions

After a short discussion on Twitter related to my Daily Blogging is disappointing post, Chris Lema said that I was wrong: @mattmedeiros @sarahpressler @no_fear_inc Yes he is. Now, since I respect Chris Lema a lot and being able to chat with him helped me and my business,… Continue Reading

Saving Media in 2018 – Readers Pick The Winner

We live in interesting times. Social media has completely disrupted the way people consume information and get informed about the latest events. A study from Pew Research Center quoted by recode states: More than two-thirds of American adults — 67 percent, to be exact — “get at least some of their news on social media,” according to new data released Thursday by Pew Research Center. That’s up from 62 percent of American adults in 2016. When Google Reader was closed on July 1, 2013, the majority of their users stopped using RSS. Sure, some switched to Feedly or a browser extension. But… Continue Reading

Content Marketing For Business Benefit

One of the things we did at DevriX in 2014 is focusing more on content marketing. Back in 2011-2013, we kept maintaining a 10-page website with no content since we believed that there are way too many sites out there sharing WordPress tutorials or business tips. Wrong. Ever since we started our tutorials section, we kept growing our visitors base, together with our list of followers and people sharing our resources. Admittedly, there's a lot of work that we need to improve and increase our quality, but we're working in that direction and the numbers are quite positive. Publish For Profits Jennifer… Continue Reading
