Why Your Cold Pitch is Doomed Before It Starts?

All the outreach and lead generation playbooks for cold pitching targeting VPs and above are brutally useless unless:

– You’re running a truly disruptive and groundbreaking startup
– Your product is absolutely shaking a core problem in the ecosystem
– Your previous job role is a VP and above in a Nasdaq company or an ex-founder of a startup that sold for $100M+

Selling anything around lead generation, content writing, guest posting, design, SEO, podcast marketing, ads management, virtual assistance services…

Expect radio silence.

I get nearly 100 pitches every single week. This has been going on for probably a decade.

Make it 50,000 or so DMs, email pitches, and cold calls selling me commodity services since 2015.

That’s thousands of writers, thousands of appointment setters, thousands of designers, thousands of developers, thousands of recruiting firms…

Very few feelings online are imprinted with so much pain and disgust as “yet another random spam lurking in my DMs.”

Expect defensive mechanisms to kick in – just like gatekeepers defend office phone numbers.

So if you’ve been running the shotgun commodity playbook in 2024, please stop.
