What was the process of writing and publishing MBA Disrupted, and how do you see its impact?

5 years of work to get “MBA Disrupted” live in May, reaching 2 times Amazon bestseller, selling thousands of copies, and taking another step toward helping existing founders, future entrepreneurs, and students start effective digital businesses the right way.

One of the toughest aspects of approving the final copy (after 3 full rewrites and several edits) was solving the biggest challenge in authoring books:

Their immutability.

Both extremes had massive drawbacks.

1. Too theoretical would carry less value to beginners looking for strategies, frameworks, techniques, and boilerplates.
2. Fully practical would immediately become obsolete with the rapid speed of evolution in the digital realm.

So I worked on a full roadmap of first principles and best practices – evergreen strategies that worked 20 years ago and still do today. 📗

And I listed down frameworks and paradigms that are likely to last over the next 5 or maybe even 10 or 20 years.

And I still included bullet points listing down recommended tools or solutions – like HubSpot or Pipedrive or Asana, understanding that some may fade away in the next years, but history will remain and their legacy has touched on plenty of people.

I also made a conscious effort to include and tag business and startup leaders accessible today – like Neil Patel, Chris Walker, Blake Hutchison, and a couple dozen active creators and entrepreneurs you can follow along even as they build new companies, sell some, or join new ventures.

2024 was a hectic and noisy year, comparable to 2020 in distractions (pandemic, lockdowns, breaking news then, vs. elections, wars, layoffs, Euro cup, the Olympics, and more over the past few months).

And I’ll be revisiting conversations with universities, training bootcamps, accelerators around printing a new batch to reach and help more founders in the new year.

The roadmap includes an audiobook and possible translations in other languages. One of the hidden perks is access to my Slack communities after (thus, continuation of the learning journey and networking with other founders).

Even though I’m not a full-time author or a professor, this project is dear to my heart as education is one of the deepest missions I care about from a professional standpoint.

And I appreciate each and every review, testimonial, and personal message sharing a success story or a revelation after reading the book 💚
