For anyone defending LinkedIn and the efficiency of social media today, AI spam isn’t going anywhere – as leadership is supportive of this.
Among Reid Hoffman‘s investments in AI initiatives are his digital twin, a couple of other AI startups, and his Superagency AI book.
He’s not the only billionaire laser-focused on that.
Marc Benioff is busy talking about AI and their agentic infrastructure in Agentforce all day long. Dharmesh Shah is doubling down hard on Agent.ai.
Jason M. Lemkin surveyed his SaaStr audience and whether AI SDRs work. 83% reported “no deals closed with AI SDR” and 11% “also not, but building pipeline”.
94% no revenue from AI? Hmm. 🤔
Meanwhile, Nasdaq top companies are doing yet another round of layoffs because… operational efficiency, meaning that menial work is getting optimized and quality was low in the first place, BUT having no revenue boost to justify additional expenses or manpower.
Google have pioneered the GPT underlying layers so AI Overviews and Gemini taking over SERP is far from surprising.
If you feel I’m exaggerating, business professionals report the AI spam all over the place.

👉 Lily Ray: “LinkedIn comments are a cesspool” – https://lnkd.in/d8svJadq
👉 Kate Knibbs: “Yes, That Viral LinkedIn Post You Read Was Probably AI-Generated” – https://lnkd.in/dn4fQyPV
👉 Tim Soulo: “LinkedIn should probably introduce some kind of “10 comments per day” cap, so that people won’t be tempted to auto-generate this spam.” – https://lnkd.in/dBFKPBBU

Look, as a technocrat, I was born dreaming about AI, robots, multiplanetary travel, IoT, flying cars. Reid’s agent resembles “Transcendence”, an impactful 2014 movie with Johnny Depp, which together with Elon’s Neuralink in real life, may indeed prolong a mind’s lifetime past the limit of a human body.
But aside the spiritual or soul-driven conversations around immortality, as far as social media is concerned, we’re bound to see more AI content, AI spam, and automation, and very few real people – let alone professionals and experts – hanging around for good.
