My WordPress Advice and Tips for Business Owners at Mr Marketology

I spent some time with Jeff from The Marketology Group for his podcast Mr Marketology discussing the WordPress world and best practices.

Don’t mind the small “P” in WordPress, other than that it was a great chat and it reminded me again how many basic bits from the WordPress ecosystem aren’t obvious to people outside of our community. I’ve been spending a lot of time with marketers over the past couple of years and that taught me a lot, which is why I was more than happy to share my overview on the WordPress market and the large ecosystem of business owners running WordPress website.

Jeff and I discussed plenty of interesting thing:

  • WordPress updates
  • Security for WordPress websites
  • SEO
  • WordPress for marketing
  • the power of the 24%
  • Can people run cheap WordPress solutions
  • Reputation and quality for WordPress services

And so on.

If you are a business owner running a WordPress website and not involved with the community (or working with a technical department), check out Mr Marketology’s podcast:

I like it that you’re addressing a log of clients’ misconceptions on how much WP-related products and services should cost depending on their needs, and why and how they should implement security.

You also pointed out that WP isn’t the most insecure platform for sites, contrary to a very popular opinion indicating the opposite, and that the core itself is actually quite secure.

The audio could have been of better quality, though.

Anyway, it is always refreshing listening to your speeches and going thorough your writings.

Thanks Yavor – the audio was recorded during a phone call to the US, where I called in from Skype. The chain of tools brought some extra noise, but I find it to be a quality talk that may help some business owners looking for the right online presence strategy.
